$1250Perfect running low mileage (168K) Mercedes 300D turbodiesel. This is the five cylinder 3.0L SOHC mechanically injected version. It's Bosch fuel pump is literally like a little Cummins. No computer. No electronics. Runs fantastic. Leaks a little oil. Could use a pan gasket. Doesn't use oil otherwise.
This is an ideal swap if you have an old FJ40 with a tired old 2F. Also have seen them in 4Runners and in Jeeps. This motor is factory rated at 125 HP and 185 lb/ft and gets over 26 MPG while pulling a 4000 lb car. It is a little slow off the line, but once the turbo kicks in, it scoots along pretty darn well. In fact, it will chirp the tires going into second gear. I have no issues running on the freeway and passing cars, and find the car pulls hard to over 4000 RPM.
Engine is still in the car and you can not only hear it run, you can drive it home, because you are buying the whole car. This car is actually not bad at all. Steering brakes and suspension, all good. Transmission shifts rough. Car is as reliable as a rock. Motor is bullet proof. Problem with the car is mostly electrical. It has issues. I have wired around some of them, but the electrical system is acting up and is dangerous. I have wired around the headlights, etc. to make them reliable, but the car would need completely rewired if you wanted to use it.
The motor is fantastic. Really a great engine. Come and drive it around the block. This is not a car for your daughter to drive to college. It is not a car for your son to drive to High School. This is not a car to expect to get in and go anywhere important. You are not buying a car. You are buying the motor. The car just is a means to get it home and all the little accessory parts you will need in making a swap into your rig. It has a new radiator, a recent battery and a new alternator as well.
Message me if you have questions or just drop by and see it. It's really outstanding for what it is. No apologies at all for this engine.
